A suspended Suffern police officer already charged in Rockland now has been arrested on felony counts of forging prescriptions to get painkillers in Orange County, Woodbury police said Friday.
Michael Lourenso, 36, of Monroe has been out on disability since December after suffering a leg injury while on duty, authorities said.
Woodbury police arrested him Thursday, accusing him of forging prescriptions in December and February to obtain painkillers at a Highland Mills pharmacy, Lt. Arthur Abbott said

A national union group is pushing Kansas to dump the company that manages the prescription plan for state employees, saying it has failed to offer the lowest possible prices on many drugs.
A legislative committee chairman said Friday that the panel may hold hearings on those claims.
Washington-based Change to Win, which represents 5.5 million workers in five unions including the Teamsters, contends CVS Caremark Corp. has not offered Kansas government employees the best deal in many cases.

Powell City Council has approved a pre-annexation agreement for the two-acre CVS Pharmacy property, 3488 Seldom Seen Road.
At its March 16 meeting, council welcomed CVS representative Michael Stoner, saying they looked forward to the property joining the city.

The markets ended with a thud Friday as the Dow Jones Industrial Average 's eight-day winning streak was snapped.
The Dow fell 37.19, or 0.35%, to 10,741.98, while the S&P 500 dropped 5.93, or 0.51%, to 1,159.90. The Nasdaq was down 16.87, or 0.71%, to 2,374.41.

CVS Caremark Corp. ( CVS ) Chairman and Chief Executive Thomas M. Ryan received compensation valued at more than $30.4 million in 2009, an increase from the previous year resulting largely from a pension-benefit credit.
Ryan's compensation totaled $23.9 million in 2008.
His base salary stayed the same last year at $1.4 million, and his stock awards, option awards and non-equity incentive plan compensation--$6.4 million, $4.6 million and $3.5 million, respectively--were lower than in 2008.
